Contributors Tim Hart, SE, LEED AP Tim Hart, SE, LEED AP, has 28 years of structural engineering and building construction experience, ranging from anchoring laser end stations, computer racks and equipment platforms to designing fire stations, office buildings, school campuses, and hospital towers. He has a degree in architectural engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and is currently a civil and structural engineer for Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Tim has served as chair of the SEAONC Construction Quality Assurance and Continuing Education Committees and was the project manager and a co-writer of the SEAOC/ICC “Structural Construction and Special Inspection Manual”. In 2008 SEAONC awarded Tim the Edwin G. Zacher Award for his service and contribution to the association. Tim served as a Director for SEAONC from 2010-2012, was named a SEAONC Fellow in 2011, and in April 2017 he was nominated to serve as Vice President of SEAONC. Michelle Kam-Biron, P.E., S.E., SECB Michelle Kam-Biron is a California licensed structural engineer and Senior Director of Education for the American Wood Council (AWC). She currently volunteers her time on the National Council of Structural Engineers Association (NCSEA) Basic Education, the ICC Professional Development Council Education Committee and is Chair of American Society of Civil Engineers Structural Engineering Institute (ASCE-SEI) Wood Education Committee as well as Chair of the SEAOSC Women in Structural Engineering Committee.
