Description
This course provides an overview of common areas of concern regarding structural stability during the construction process. The course is intended to highlight issues that are often overlooked or missed during construction which can create unsafe conditions leading to partial or complete structural collapse. The course relies heavily on experience gained while investigating failures during construction including issues such as construction bracing, baseplate grouting, mechanical coupler grouting, field modification of bolt holes, and improper installation of post-installed anchors. This course is intended to highlight the importance of proper construction bracing and sequencing on site and personal safety as well as to assist engineers identify poor construction practices while performing construction administration services.
