10.04.2018 | Retrofit of Existing Structures for Protective Applications

When evaluating existing structures for blast loads and DC, it is important that engineers identify the critical deficiencies and maximize the contribution of the existing elements in order to minimize the extent of the structural upgrades. This webinar will provide architects and engineers with a general overview of key factors to consider when evaluating existing structures and will discuss the advantages of using advanced nonlinear dynamic analysis methods to maximize the contribution of the existing structural system. The presentation will also discuss classic blast-resistant and collapse mitigation upgrades used to retrofit typical Masonry, RC and Steel structural systems as well as glazing systems considering ductile modes of response.
