11.29.2018 | Changes to the 2016 TMS 402/602 Building Code for Masonry Structures

The 2016 TMS 402 Building Code Requirements for Masonry Structures contains two major technical changes. One is the addition of shear friction provisions and the other is a change to anchor bolt requirements. There were numerous other minor technical changes and some format and editorial changes. These changes will be covered and examples will be provided illustrating the application of the provisions. Changes in TMS 602 Specification for Masonry Structures, and changes in ASCE 7-16 and the 2018 IBC that affect masonry, will also be covered.
