This presentation explains two significant new provisions in ASCE 7-16, an alternative diaphragm design force level that is different from the design force level of ASCE 7-10, which is retained in ASCE 7-16 and a precast diaphragm design procedure to go together with the alternative design force level.

and Other Structures (ASCE 7), and the Provisions Update Committee of the

of the American Concrete Institute (ACI), the Building Seismic Safety Council, and the
Earthquake Engineering Research Institute (EERI).
