Prepare yourself for a career in commercial nuclear energy law by taking NEI’s Nuclear Law 101 for Attorneys. The course provides a high-level, comprehensive overview of the major facets of nuclear energy law and will give you a solid foundation for your detailed legal work. The one-day virtual training course focuses on nuclear regulation, licensing, used fuel management and third-party liability.

You will leave the training with an understanding of the following nuclear legislation, provisions and regulations:

  • Atomic Energy Act (AEA) and the Nuclear Regulatory Commission
  • AEA hearing requirements and NRC’s hearing process
  • AEA Sec. 274 federalism provision and the role of the states
  • NRC reactor licensing process under 10 CFR Parts 50 and 52
  • NRC’s license renewal and amendment processes
  • Nuclear Waste Policy Act and related court decisions
  • Price-Anderson Act.

Class materials will be available to support applications for Continuing Legal Education Credits.
