Awards

The NERRS-NERRA Annual Meeting is a time to celebrate the individuals who make outstanding contributions to the mission of the system. One way we do this is through presenting annual service awards. This year we aim to provide the following awards during the program on Monday, October 27.  Congratulations to our 2020 winners!  

The NERRS Technical Service Award honors those individuals who go above and beyond to ensure our data is of high quality and relevant to our coastal communities. This award recognizes superior technical skills and support for the NERRS System-wide Monitoring Program and/or other monitoring and data management skills and tasks.

The NERRS Impact Award honors impactful work that demonstrates progress toward the NERRS mission and goals. The award highlights work done at the local, regional and national level to impact and improve the stewardship of coastal resources which is a hallmark of the NERR System.

The NERRS-NERRA Award for Outstanding Contribution honors leaders whose enduring dedication to achieving the goals of NERRS has significantly advanced understanding, care, and protection for estuarine ecosystems.

The Coastal Training Program Lifetime Achievement Award honors leaders with 
dedicated service, unwavering leadership, and outstanding contributions to the Coastal Training Program, the National Estuarine Research Reserve System, and their community.
