RISER ACCESS AND SAFETY DEVICES FOR OSSF's
Access to onsite wastewater treatment tanks is important for proper maintenance and inspections. This access is often times brought to grade for ease of maintenance; however, this exposure also increases the risk for accidental entry. Far too many faces of young children have appeared on news stories detailing horrific accidents. Adults and pets are also at risk of falling through a cover that fails or is dislodged. Other than tragic loss of life or severe injury, these occurrences also usually result in lawsuits with manufacturers, installers, inspectors, designers, and maintenance providers named as defendants. Everyone has a role to play in preventing these tragedies. This session will focus on the options that exist to help prevent these tragedies.
