This presentation will cover the basics of “Standard 40” rated systems and how they can be expected to perform in the field. We will discuss the test center protocol and the proper sizing and applications for these systems. The presentation will cover the common mechanical components (aerators, blowers, diffusers, pumps, etc.) and controls and how to troubleshoot them to ensure that these are in proper working order. Even though the system may be sized and “mechanically” sound, systems can still fail to perform. We will discuss the most common failures which include hydraulic & biological under and over loading, inhibitory chemicals/compounds, homeowner intentional and unintentional abuse/neglect and other topics.
