Presentation: DOT Safety Talk  - This presentation will cover the history of roads and the DPS here in Texas.  His presentation will cover safety with your big trucks, strapping of loads and figuring out where CDL licenses start, in particular with today's larger pickups and towing of equipment. 

Sergeant Jim Galyean - Texas Department of Public Safety

Sergeant Galyean spent 3 years with the U.S. Army as an Artillery Surveyor and attended Texas Tech University before joining the Texas DPS. Jim has been employed with the Texas Department of Public Safety since October of 1995. He has been stationed in Weslaco, Sherman, Laredo, and Waco.

Jim is currently assigned as Sergeant of CVE Area 6A11 in the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Service in Waco, TX. He is responsible for the commercial enforcement that covers thirteen counties including Bell, Bosque, Coryell, Falls, Freestone, Hamilton, Hill, Lampasas, Limestone, McLennan, Milam, Mills, and San Saba Counties. Sergeant Galyean has twenty-five years’ experience with the Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Service.
