Target Audience New graduate women’s health nurse practitioners (WHNPs), and other nurse practitioners involved in women’s and gender related healthcare.

Objectives

1. Describe components of a comprehensive health history.
2.  Describe physical examination techniques for all body systems.
3. Differentiate normal and abnormal physical examination findings

Content Outline

1. History taking: Past medical history, History of Present Illness, Medication Reconciliation, Surgical history, Obstetric/Gynecologic history, Allergies, Health risks, Family history, Social history, Sexual history
2. Physical examination: Anthropometric (such as BMI, Weight, Height)
   measurements, HEENT, Heart and lungs, Breast, Abdomen (Evaluation of the acute abdomen, hernia), Reproductive (Female and Male), Colorectal, Musculoskeletal, Neurologic, Skin.
