Thank you This live web event has ended. Thank you for attending. Contributors Leslie Charles After joining NSA in 1982, Leslie made a silent pledge to be an involved, active member and that’s exactly what she did. Her volunteer positions grew from small jobs such as room coordinator or introducer to Youth Program Chair and National Chapter Leadership Co Chair to breakout presenter, keynoting and coordinating or speaking at educational sessions such as NSA University, assorted Labs and the Cavett Institute. Leslie spent six years on the NSA Board of Directors and received her CSP in 1991. As a founding member of NSA-Michigan she is still an involved, active association member, locally and nationally. She is also currently on the editorial board of Speaker Magazine. As for Leslie’s credentials as a writer, she has written seven books, one of which thrust her into the national media for almost two years, resulting in appearances on all the major TV networks plus radio shows such as Bloomberg and NPR and several magazines. Leslie was featured in at least one hundred newspaper articles across the US, including a USA Today cover story. This book, titled “Why Is Everyone So Cranky?” gave her the distinction of being the 1998 “ Maui Writers Conference nonfiction success story of the year” in which she landed one of the top agents in the country and an enviable six–figure advance. Leslie has published two books with major houses and has self-published five. The motivational company Successories bought partial rights to one of her customer service books and sold it for years from their kiosks and catalog. Leslie also works as a nonfiction manuscript doctor and book coach for both budding and established authors. Her “transformational” editing services go far beyond copyediting and to date she has at least a dozen completed book coaching/doctoring projects to her credit.
