This course explores the current literature on physical activity, inactivity, and health, as well as recommendations for physical activity. The course equips wellness professionals to better advise patients on an active lifestyle, including facilitation and serving as a resource person.
Learning Objectives
Following this course, you will be able to:
    • Describe the impact that physical activity has on an individual's health.
    • Explain the role of physical activity in reducing premature morbidity and mortality.
    • Recognize when an individual should be directed to a healthcare provider for physical activity advice.
    • Describe the various types of exercise that constitute moderate and vigorous activity levels.
    • Explain how to engage individuals in adopting physical activity.
