This lecture will review the physiology of Cushing's and Addison's disease so that the technician can better understand the disease processes. We will also discuss different treatment options and the necessary monitoring.

Qualifications and ExperiencE


Erica earned her Associate of Applied Science from SUNY Delhi in Veterinary Technology in 2012 and her Veterinary Technology License in 2013. Erica received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Veterinary Technology Management from SUNY Delhi in 2014. Before joining Upstate Veterinary Specialties in 2015, Erica worked as a Veterinary Technician at VCA Animal Specialty Center in Yonkers, NY. Her experience included ICU and emergency medicine, patient stabilization, intensive care, and anesthesia/sedation. Erica has over eight years of experience as an Internal Medicine Technician with advanced knowledge of internal disease processes. She obtained her Veterinary Technician Specialist (VTS) in Internal Medicine in 2021. She is highly trained in central line placement, phlebotomy, bone marrow collection, and nasogastric feeding tube placement. In her spare time Erica crochets and enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, two border collies and a cat.
