Recorded Webinar- The Unconscious Factors that Influence Career Misalignment
Join Dr. Scott Secor as he explores strategies for understanding the interaction between personality characteristics, psychopathology, and values systems that lead to career misalignment, as well as how to help clients re-imagine their unconscious maps to improve overall well-being and career satisfaction. Dr. Secor will investigate different appraisal techniques that help clinicians understand the unconscious personality characteristics and values systems that inform their career decisions. Participants will also explore how those same personality characteristics interact with psychopathology and thus influence career satisfaction. Finally, Dr. Secor will discuss different methods for helping clients narrate their unconscious and make informed decisions related to career and life satisfaction.
Objectives Include:
-To investigate what makes someone “happy” in their career.
-To understand how clinicians can access these unconscious processes to better understand the themes that narrate a client’s life.
-To help clients cope with the mental health variables that work toward, and against, career fulfillment.
