Recorded Webinar- Understanding and Implementing Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) in Individual Therapy

Recorded Webinar- Understanding and Implementing Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) in Individual Therapy
5 General CEs
This training will help to increase the recognition of the impact of trauma, help to understand the processes of trauma and understand how to best implement the modality of Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) into individual therapy sessions. Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) is an evidenced-based therapy treatment that focuses on examining and challenging maladaptive thoughts and feelings. When some individuals experience traumatic life events such as physical, sexual and/or emotional abuse or assault, accidents, threats, combat, first responder calls, or have witnessed violence or death, often PTSD, or symptoms of PTSD develop. CPT focuses on the impact that maladaptive thoughts have on our feelings and behavior

Courses expire 30 days after purchase.

Objectives include:
1. Increase understanding of trauma and how it affects clients in everyday life.
2. Help clients identify problem areas (stuck points) in their thinking, that stem from traumatic events, which have impeded recovery.
3. Using specific, client-focused dialogue and approaches that encourages clients to examine and evaluate their own beliefs rather than being told in a directive way.
