TADs–Thinking Outside the Box

While TADs can enable enhanced treatment outcomes, utilizing them properly takes experience and time. In this webinar, Dr. Bovenizer discusses how to use TADs in a variety of situations, including cases with vertical maxillary excess, mid-treatment cant development, adult protrusion, and a Class II case with negative overjet/overbite. He reviews his protocols in detail, including torque selection, timing of placement, as well as his criteria for TAD and powerchain selection. Finally, he offers best-practices on selecting torque in anticipation of the forces applied when using TADs, guidance on how to maintain light forces to avoid unwanted effects, and recommendations on frequency of visits.
