The Vertical Challenge: Treating more difficult cases efficiently with clear aligners

This presentation will demonstrate how clear aligners can be used to successfully treat the vertical dimension of more complicated orthodontic cases. Systematic approaches will be illustrated and recommendations provided on how to most effectively utilize clear aligners with or without TADs to close an anterior open bite, improve vertical maxillary excess or open a deep bite. Case examples of various indications will be shown and the corresponding biomechanics clearly illustrated.

Key Learning Objectives

  • Increase confidence in using clear aligners with or without TADs to close an anterior open bite, improve vertical maxillary excess or open a deep bite
  • Evaluate when to use and where to place TADs to aid in correcting an anterior open bite or vertical maxillary excess with aligners
  • Understand attachments and sequencing when extruding and intruding teeth with aligners
