Description
The current state of research has highlighted the significance negative impact of sleep disordered breathing in children, and the role orthodontists can play in the management of this disease has become better defined. This presentation will re-examine the relationship between sleep disordered breathing and craniofacial growth and development in light of new clinical data. The current evidence related to orthodontic treatment effects on obstructive sleep apnea and how CBCT imaging relates to the upper airway will also be discussed, with a focus on separating fact from fiction when it comes to the hype surrounding these topics.
