Webinar: (2020-07) Quality Management Systems: Tools to Consider in an Animal Care and Use Program

This webinar will cover concepts, tools, and processes commonly used in a Quality Assurance (QA) or Quality Control (QC) program that can be adapted with a similarly beneficial effect in a high-quality Animal Care and Use Program (ACUP).

IACUC administrators will learn the language and tools used by QA/QC professionals in developing a Quality Management System to assess ACUP operations and discuss what it would mean to establish meaningful and sustainable programmatic change. Strategies to link IACUC and QA/QC programs will be discussed that can leverage QA/QC knowledge to create a high-quality ACUP.

Participants will bring their own questions, experiences, and scenarios for practical discussion regarding the application of these tools. Tools and guidance, which may include those provided by federal agencies, will be shared, and discussion will be encouraged of how these resources could be implemented within an ACUP.
