Course: (2022) Exploring the Common Rule: A Guide for Beginners



New to IRB administration? Does the Common Rule seem like uncharted territory? If so, this course, offered in three 2-hour virtual sessions, will provide you with a road map that will allow you to navigate key sections of the Common Rule you need to successfully begin your journey through IRB administration.

Responsibilities beyond the IRB review process that the Common Rule outlines and that IRB administrators might assume

What will I learn?
  • Know where and how to find the essential documents and resources you need to implement the Common Rule
  • Gain experience with interpreting key sections of the Common Rule including IRB functions and operations and IRB review of research
  • Be able to identify responsibilities outside of the IRB review of research often assigned to IRB administrators
