Training Tools: TEND Compassion Fatigue

Course Description: This course invites Rock Steady coaches to reflect on the best ways for you to stay well, present, and compassionate while coaching boxers who have Parkinson’s disease. Coaching can be deeply rewarding, however, exposure to difficult experiences can erode our ability to connect with and care for our boxers. This course will introduce you to practical strategies for managing experiences of work-related stress, empathic strain, and moral distress as well as other related challenges.

Course Objectives:
Upon completion of this course the learner will be able to:
1. Recognize experiences of empathic strain and secondary traumatic stress
2. Identify personal risk factors for work-related stress
3. Set and maintain healthy boundaries
4. Build a toolkit of skills to protect your well-being
