Description

This webcast will review methods and tools in the context of planning for digital archives access. Participants will learn existing and potential applications of UX principles to digital archives administration through presentation and discussion.

Learning Objectives:

  • Identify established user experience design methods and tools
  • Explain approaches for improving access through the application of these methods and tools
  • Plan for integration of successive generations of user centered design methods and tools
  • Integrate these within existing digital archives’ functions of providing access

  • Mahnaz Ghaznavi

    Mahnaz Ghaznavi has held appointments in the field of library, records, and archives management with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the American Film Institute, the National Historical Publications and Records Commission, and the Getty Research Institute, amongst others. She periodically teaches for the UCLA and San Jose State University MLIS programs, respectively.  Her past service to the profession includes membership on the Society of American Archivists (SAA) Force on Digital Archives Continuing Education (DACE). She currently serves as the Chair of the SAA Digital Archives Specialist Subcommittee (DAS).
