  • David Minor

    David Minor works at the University of California, San Diego, where he is the director of the Research Data Curation Program in the UC San Diego Library. In this role he helps define and lead work needed for the contemporary and long-term management digital resources. His position includes significant interaction with stakeholders on the UC San Diego campus, throughout the UC System, and national initiatives. His program also includes management of Chronopolis, a national-scale digital preservation network that originated with funds from the Library of Congress' NDIIPP Program. Chronopolis is also a founding partner in the Digital Preservation Network (DPN), helping to set a new national digital preservation agenda.

    David received his BA in philosophy from Carleton College and MLS from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

  • Reid Otsuji

    Reid Otsuji serves as Faculty Liaison and Data Curation Specialist Librarian for UC San Diego Library’s Research Data Curation (RDC) Program. Otsuji works with faculty researchers and other data producers in educating them about and providing them with data curation services to support their research. He plays a central role in establishing effective and efficient data curation mechanisms to meet the evolving data curation needs of UC San Diego’s researchers. Otsuji continues to work on a number of digital collection projects, in support of the Library’s Digital Library Development Program. Additionally, as a part of his role in expanding data education, he is a certified Software Carpentry Instructor to teach core scientific foundational computing skills for research.

    Starting in 2003, Otsuji worked as a Media Specialist and Departmental System Administrator for the former UC San Diego Arts Library. In that capacity, he worked directly with faculty in the area of collection development and collaborated with Library staff to produce digital objects for digital library collections. Otsuji developed, implemented, integrated, and maintained two digital production studios for still and moving images in support of arts research and teaching, and provided technical training and user support for faculty, staff, and students. He also gave frequent consultations and training for campus users utilizing the online digital image database, ARTstor, and implemented numerous other digital media production projects.

    Otsuji received his MLIS degree from San Jose State University and his BA in Visual Arts from UC San Diego.
