A Liberation Toolkit for Early Career Psychologists - Part 3 (11/21/22)

A Liberation Toolkit for Early Career Psychologists: Part 3
21 November 2022, 7:00 – 8:30 Eastern
Description

This is Part 3 of a 3-Part series. Early Career Psychologists (ECPs) bring fresh perspective and hope for transformation of professional psychology and the institutions we serve; however, ECPs experience unique challenges including but not limited to limited DEI-specific and advocacy training, trauma from training and early career experiences, limited support and resource, and more. Nonetheless, ECPs can learn to leverage available tools that will reshape their personal lives, professional work, our institutions, and ultimately our world. Dr. Reuben invites ECP’s to a co-created learning space to explore consciousness raising, community building, and liberation praxis. Dr. Reuben will facilitate a 3-part workshop with aims to 1) normalize the experiences of early career psychologists, 2) develop necessary skills for ‘change agent’ development, and 3) to practice skills needed co-create community with other liberation-focused early career psychologists. Participants will be encouraged to explore liberation at the individual and institutional contexts, be afforded opportunities to engage in large- and small- group dialogue with the facilitator and peers, and will explore how to maximize resources and supports necessary for the developing change agent. Due to the intimate nature of these spaces, recordings of this workshop will not be available. While attending all 3 parts is encouraged, ECPs are welcome to attend those they can make, and will be able to earn CE credit for each part they attend.
