SFIA-112: Application and design of cold-formed steel in mid-rise construction
AIA Course
Recorded on October 5, 2021

Course Description
This program, using building science principles, will illustrate how panelization and hybrid systems using cold-formed steel framed assemblies can benefit many Mid-Rise Construction projects.
Learning objectives
  1. Participants will review the types of buildings where the use of cold-formed steel framing is appropriate.
  2. Attendees will learn the difference between stick framing and panelized construction, and then review the key steps in the panelized construction.
  3. Participants will investigate the basic considerations when evaluating different materials and systems.
