Moisture control for durable and energy efficient cold-formed steel walls

Moisture control for durable and energy efficient cold-formed steel walls
Technical Course
Recorded on Nov 17 2021

Course Description
Newer energy codes are pushing for more energy efficient wall assemblies. But, are they durable? Will they stay dry? Used appropriately with other control layers, the thermal control layers (insulation) of a cold-formed steel wall assembly can actually contribute to improved durability and energy efficiency.
Learning objectives
This session will explore five key building science topics together with new code requirements and design tools to help navigate and coordinate building code requirements for moisture control and energy code requirements for insulation. Design examples will illustrate how to apply these actionable building science concepts in the process of optimizing code compliance and performance.
