Live Perspective Webinar: Corrosion Prevention & Freeze Protection in Fire Sprinkler Systems

June 3, 11am -12pm ET

Sponsored by: AGF Manufacturing
Presented by: Jim McHugh, AGF President

Dry and pre-action fire sprinkler systems often fail due to freezing, improper maintenance, or vandalism. Wet systems often fail from leaks or blockages caused by corrosion. That leaves building occupants at risk and can cause thousands in facility damage due to flooding. Prevention is the cheapest, quickest, and easiest way to protect fire sprinkler systems. This presentation will review NFPA 13 code requirements for freeze protection, auxiliary drains, corrosion, and air vents. Participants will understand common issues with auxiliary drains on dry fire sprinkler systems and learn how to minimize risk and expenses with a proactive approach. They will also understand corrosion in wet fire sprinkler systems and how air vents have been proven to help prevent it by releasing trapped air. It will also include an overview of COLLECTanDRAIN and PURGEnVENT products that solve the most common issues encountered with auxiliary drains and air vents. This program should appeal to sprinkler designers, installers, estimators, engineers, fire code officials, AHJs, and plan reviewers.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of the presentation, the participant will:

  • Understand NFPA 13 code requirements for freeze protection, auxiliary drains, air vents, and corrosion
  • Understand common issues with auxiliary drains on dry fire sprinkler systems and corrosion on wet fire sprinkler systems
  • Overview of COLLECTanDRAIN products that solve the most common issues property owners and facility managers encounter with dry fire sprinkler systems and PURGEnVENT air vents which meet code and help prevent corrosion
