There is an expectation from the public that installed fire protection
systems, whether passive or active systems, will work should the need
arise. This includes automatic
sprinkler systems. Corrosion is a common
issue that can cause these systems to fail.Studying corrosion through comparing common systems and components and
the impact of NFPA 25 inspection, testing, and maintenance will help the
industry understand what is best to specify for design and install. This webinar will provide an overview of an
ongoing long-term corrosion experiment in addition to understanding the
elements of corrosion and ITM that can impact the system reliability for fire
sprinkler systems.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the different types of corrosion and the impact to fire sprinkler systems.
- Understand potential solutions to corrosion in fire sprinkler systems.
- Learn about the progress of the ongoing long-term corrosion project at OSU.
