Live Member Webinar: Fundamentals of Fire Investigation - The Relationship Between Compartment Fire Dynamics and Resulting Post-Incident Damage Patterns.

Now available "on-demand"!

Live Webinar: August 24, 2022. 12pm - 1pm ET.  Fire protection engineers generally have a good foundational understanding of principles of fire dynamics, but some may lack the practical experience and training to accurately relate post-incident damage patterns back to the fire behaviors that created them. This webinar will offer a basic introduction to important relationships between fire behaviors and resulting damage patterns observed by investigators. Theoretical discussion of damage pattern development will be supplemented with large-scale fire test results from fire investigation research studies completed at the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Fire Research Laboratory (FRL).

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand fire investigation terms and concepts of fire effects, characteristics of fire effects, and fire patterns.
  • Understand key transitional points in compartment fire behavior that may impact the location, shape, magnitude, and other characteristics of fire effects.
  • Understand fire pattern analysis framework known as the Origin Matrix Analysis.
