Description
It’s
been over 10 years since NFPA 13 prohibited the use of nonlisted antifreeze in
new systems, three years since the launch of the first UL listed antifreeze,
and mere months since NFPA 25’s sunset date for nonlisted antifreezes. But in
between all of that, several more listed antifreezes have become available to
the market and new editions of NFPA Standards have been published, some of
which included changes related to antifreeze system requirements. This webinar
will review the key items fire protection industry professionals should understand
about ensuring safe and compliant antifreeze systems. We’ll cover topics such
as UL 2901, NFPA requirements for new and existing antifreeze systems, ITM of
listed antifreeze systems, and more.
Learning Objectives:
- Understand the components of an antifreeze listing and how and why listings differ among listed solutions
- Identify the critical items to consider when evaluating listed solutions such as system volume limitations and minimum system design pressure stipulations
- Gain insight into the requirements for antifreeze systems per NFPA 13/13R/13D
- Learn the changes related to antifreeze systems published in the 2023 Edition of NFPA 25
- Recognize the best practices and tools needed to design, install, test, and maintain a system with a listed antifreeze and how they may differ from those of a nonlisted solution
