  • Mark E. Fessenden

    Mark Fessenden is Director of Industry Relations for Johnson Controls Inc.For over 25 years he has been involved with the manufacturing of active fire protection systems.His experience includes water based systems (automatic sprinkler, water spray fixed systems, and watermist) and special hazard systems (clean agent, CO2, wet chemical, dry chemical, and foam).His focus has been in the development of new technologies, codes & standards, technical services, and training.He holds three U.S. patents in automatic sprinkler and fire alarm technology.Mark is a member of numerous National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Technical Committees and serves as Chairman of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers (SFPE) Committee on Professional Development (CDP). He is also Vice President of the Wisconsin Chapter of SFPE. He serves on the Board of directors for both the National Fire Sprinkler Association (NFSA) and the International Fire Suppression Alliance (IFSA). Mark was the 2021 recipient of the SFPE Harold E. Nelson Service Award and the 2017 recipient of the NFPA Industrial Fire Protection Section Fire Prevention Award.Mark has a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from New England Institute of Technology and an MBA from Corban University.

  • Bob Kasiski

    Bob Kasiski is a Staff Vice President/Senior Engineering Technical
    Specialist with FM Global's Chief Engineers Group. Bob joined FM
    Approvals in 1988 as a Senior Engineer evaluating special protection fire
    extinguishing systems for certification and became a Technical Team
    Manager in 2005. In 2006, he moved to the Chief Engineers Group as a
    Senior Engineering Specialist. Prior to working at FM Global, Bob was as a
    Project Engineer at an FM Approved fire equipment manufacturer.
    Bob is the subject matter engineer for FM Global on various special
    protection systems included in their "4-Series" Property Loss Prevention
    Data Sheets, along with the Data Sheets for detection and fire alarm
    control panels. Bob represents FM Global on various National Fire
    Protection Association (NFPA) Technical Committees related to his
    technical responsibilities, including NFPA 11, 12, 72, 750, 770 and 2001.
    He serves as Chair to the NFPA 750 Technical Committee on Water Mist
    Fire Extinguishing Systems.
    Bob holds a Master's of Science in Engineering Management (Northeastern
    University) and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (New
    Jersey Institute of Technology). He is a Professional Member of the
    Society of Fire Protection Engineers and member of the New Jersey
    Exempt Volunteer Firefighters Association.

  • Timothy Carman, PE

    Timothy Carman has worked in the fire protection industry since 1985. He has specialized for the past 22 years in Special Hazards suppression systems including; Clean Agents, CO2, Dry Chemical, and Detection & Control Systems, and has held roles in Product Management, Sales, Engineering, and Business Development. He is currently the National Sales Manager for Janus Fire Systems and is a Past President of both the Fire Suppression Systems Association and the Cascade Chapter of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers. Tim is a registered Fire Protection Engineer in the State of Oregon and resides in Portland.

  • Martin Workman

    Martin Workman started in the fire sprinkler industry in 1984 as an apprentice sprinkler fitter, after working through his journeyman, Martin worked as a designer of sprinkler systems, foam systems, and special hazard gaseous systems. In 1997, Martin joined the Viking Corporation as Product Manager of Special Hazards, working in technical services and supporting low expansion foam systems. In 2001, Martin moved to Product Manager of the Viking Product line. In 2010, Martin was promoted to Vice President of Product Management. Martin works with Business Development, Technical Services, Technical Data, Training, Special Hazards Business Development, Digital Resources, and Product Development at the Viking Corporation.
