This presentation is centered around providing a better understanding of NFPA 14 Standard for the Installation of Standpipes and Hose Systems fire department "expectations" of pressure and flow of standpipe design. The presenters will discuss standpipe systems types, classes, and pressure-reducing devices found in pre & post-1993 design from the perspective of the firefighter. Join us for a dive into the world of standpipe design and a discussion on how design pressures and flow effect the fire department's tactical considerations for operations.

  • The presenters will cover pressure-regulating devices as required in pre and post-1993 designs.
