This webinar introduces inspectors to the codes that safeguard buildings undergoing construction, major renovation and demolition. The course discusses best practices regarding hot work, housekeeping, storage, and site security. Students will learn the requirement and responsibilities of the construction site fire prevention program manager and the components of a well-crafted construction site pre-fire plan. They will preview the construction fire safety code changes coming in the 2021 edition of the International Fire Code.

    Raymond O’Brocki, CBO, is the Manager of Fire Service Relations for the American Wood Council. Before that he was the Chief Building Official for the City of Rockville, MD. He retired as the Assistant Fire Chief the Baltimore City Fire Department in 2013. He was appointed fire marshal for Baltimore City in 2008. O’Brocki has served on the Maryland State Child Care Advisory Council, Maryland State Fire Code Update Committee, He has served on the NFPA Urban Fire Safety Task Force. He is currently a sitting member of the NFPA 1 technical committee, the IFC committee and the ICC Fire Code Action Committee. Ray is the administrator of the Construction Fire Safety Coalition, a diverse group of industry and government committed to reducing the occurrence and severity of construction site fires. O’Brocki is a graduate of the University of Baltimore School of Law and a licensed attorney
