This presentation with discuss the role and responsibilities of the fire protection as it relates to the design and construction of Mission Critical Facilities. Mr. Poole will also provide an overview of the code requirements as it relates to the fire protection and life safety features and discuss some of the challenges an FPE may encounter during the design and construction phases of Mission Critical Facilities. Lastly, Mr. Poole will discuss the importance and process of both acceptance testing and commissioning of the fire protection and life safety systems for Mission Critical Facilities.

Learning Objectives:

  1. To understand the roles and responsibilities of an FPE for the Design and Construction of Mission Critical Facilities.
  2. To identify the typical fire detection, alarm and suppression systems provided in Mission Critical Facilities.
  3. To discuss some of the challenges encountered by an FPE and how they are addressed during the project.
  4. To provide an overview of the acceptance testing and commissioning of fire protection systems of Mission Critical Facilities.
