Clinical Update in Young Adult Health 2021

The impact of health conditions that occur in young adults can last throughout the rest of a person’s life, so these conditions often are relevant to a broad array of general internists. Young adults as a population have higher rates of un- and under-insurance, morbidity and mortality from behaviorally mediated illnesses, and their health choices may impact on chronic disease later in life. This year, the higher rates of COVID-19 infection in young adults highlights their vulnerability.
