Decision Making: The Case of Mammography Screening in Older Women
In this presentation, the 2021 Distinguished Professor of Geriatrics, Dr. Mara Schonberg, from Harvard Medical School, reviews the benefits and harms of mammography screening in older
women, and tools for estimating older adults’ 10-year prognosis. Dr. Schonberg will also describe how to engage older women in shared decision making around
mammography screening. A goal is for participants to use the
framework used for improving mammography screening decisions in older women to
improve shared decision making for other preference-sensitive decisions in the
care of older adults.
