The COVID-19 pandemic and consequent changes in insurer reimbursement have led to more widespread use of telemedicine. Some proponents of telemedicine claim that telemedicine can augment traditional in-person clinic visits, improve patient access and care quality. However, others have raised concerns about the potential effects of increasing reliance on telemedicine, from worsening disparities to undermining the close relationship between physician and patient.
This webinar examines the promise and perils of telemedicine. Presenters will discuss the potential negative social effects of telemedicine and ways in which telemedicine may be used to avoid these problems.
