Healthcare and Public Health are different, nevertheless their strategies to improve health are often similar and aligned.  They face similar challenges, particularly with advancng health equity and eliminating race based health disparities.  Also, there are similar opportunities to address the challenges and improve health.  

Dr. Deborah Prothrow-Stith explores the challenges and opportunities as they relate to the role of the generalist/primary care physiciain in advancing health.  She will discuss racism and professional silos, in addition to other challenges, and will highlight opportunities moving forward.
