This VA Special Series session, The Primary Care Analytics Team: Building Impact Through Collaboration and Partnership with the VHA Office of Primary Care, was originally presented at the SGIM22 annual meeting in Orlando (April 2022).

The VHA is one of the largest integrated heath systems in the United States, serving 9 million Veterans.  The Office of Primary Care (OPC) is charged with national policy and planning for over 900 primary care clinics.  In this session presenters describe the mission of the Primary Care Analytics Team (PCAT), an integrated research team within CHA OPC, to improve the impact on primary care delivery.  The aim of PCAT is to link data capabilites, research infrastructure and evidence to inform national primary care practice and policy in the VA. 

Presenters will highlight how PCAT is creating collaborations and partnerships to improve VHA primary care.  They will discuss challenges and strategies for succss i working wiht clinical operations partners and provide recommendations for other Learning Health Systems units embedded in large integrated heatlh care organizations.
