Save the date for a virtual round table presentation of tales of professional victory, both small and large – on October 21, from 11:30 to 12:30 (ET) we will be hosting Solo Success Stories, and we would love to see you there.

Attendees are welcome from all communities, but we are seeking Solo presenters to share recent accomplishments. We are looking for 5-10 minute presentations that can cover any aspect of being a solo info pro. Project management, vendor negotiations, complex research, technology implementation, virtual collaboration… the possibilities are endless, because Solos do it all.

  • Emma Moore

    Emma C. Moore is the Librarian for Mathematics and Natural Sciences (MNS) at the Institute for Advanced Study, a private and independent research center founded in 1930 in Princeton, New Jersey. The MNS Library serves IAS's permanent Faculty in pure and applied mathematics, physics, astrophysics, and systems biology.

    Emma has worked in libraries since she was a teenager, obtained her BA in history and literature from Harvard College in 2007, and her MLIS from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in 2012. She has previous been employed in positions at Princeton University, Rutgers School of Management and Labor Relations, and Metropolitan College of New York.

    Emma joined SLA in 2017, becoming an active member of the Physics Astronomy and Mathematics Community (PAM), and first secretary and then program chair/vice president of the New Jersey Community in 2020 and 2021. She will be President of the New Jersey Community in 2022.


  • Gabi Hysong

    Gabi Hysong has an undergraduate degree in public health with a concentration in environmental science and she worked in the hazmat field for 10 years. In 2004, at the age of 50, she completely changed careers. She quit her job, sold her dream house, and pursued her MLS. She started all over and says that it was one of the best decisions she ever made

  • Kate Stadt

    Kate Strong Stadt is the Compliance Knowledge Manager at HubSpot, a tech company that sells CRM, Marketing, and Sales software. She has an M.S. in Library and Information Sciences from Simmons University in Boston and previously worked as a children's librarian. The title of her presentation is "Creating Audit Documentation: A Case Study."
