Description

LMD is offering a panel in relation to online teaching, including helpful information regarding educational approaches to asynchronous, synchronous, and hybrid online classes.

This presentation is scheduled for Tues., May 11 at 11 a.m. EST.

Our speakers are Cynthia Cheng Correia, Will Olmstadt, and Rebecca Vargha.
Panel Presentation Descriptions:
Demand and expectations for online and hybrid learning have expanded seismically and transformed its place in education and training. For new and seasoned instructors, this altered landscape presents challenges – and opportunities. What do we need to know – and apply – to succeed? How do we present content, harness tools, and create learning experiences that have impact? How do we maximize our offerings while minimizing pressures on our time and resources? Join Cynthia Cheng Correia as we discuss best practices, lessons learned, and practice tips to help you deliver engaging and effective learning experiences.
Will Olmstadt will talk about his experiences and "lessons learned" teaching online for graduate programs in public health and library science. He has taught or co-taught for-credit, graded electives 7 times during his career. He has experience using Moodle, Blackboard, and Google Classroom.
Rebecca Vargha will cover the ten best practices for teaching a class that is completely online. From topics like creating a supportive online community to the value of "instructor presence" in the class; the session will guide you through initial online teaching experiences.
