    Since May 2017, Marianna Gurtovnik has served as Director of Management Operations in the Department of Microbiology and Molecular Genetics at the University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston, Texas (UTHealth). She oversees departmental budget, research administration activities, procurement, physical assets, space management, compliance and human resource operations. Previously, she worked as Senior Administrative Manager in the Department of Internal Medicine at UTHealth.Prior to joining UTHealth, she spent four years at UT MD Anderson Cancer Center handling business operations and pre- and post-award activities for two research departments, as well as managing projects, business development and contract administration for US government-funded private contractors and non-profit organizations in the United States and overseas. Marianna is a recently Certified Research Administrator and holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from The American University in Washington, DC.

  • Trudy Riley, Associate Vice President for Research and Innovation, Virginia Tech

    Trudy Riley is the Associate Vice President for Research and Innovation for Sponsored Programs at the Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech). As the AVP for Research and Innovation, Trudy leads a team operating under the university’s Office of the Vice President for Research and Innovation (OVPRI) that supports faculty and staff who engage in extramurally funded programs for research, instruction, and outreach. At Virginia Tech, the sponsored programs team is responsible for the full array of pre-award, contracting, and post-award functions.

    Trudy has been a member of SRA International for approximately eighteen years. She is a founding member of the SRA International Delaware Valley Chapter for which she served as President in 2010. Trudy continued her service with SRA International as the President of the Northeast Section of SRA International in 2012 and currently serves as the Co-Certificate Leader for the SRA International Financial Management Certificate. Trudy became an SRAI Distinguished Faculty member in 2017.
