You are thinking of cooperating with a foreign research institution. They have agreed to provide funding for the joint research, provided that they can send their team of researchers to a host institution in the United States. During this webinar, we will focus on the legal considerations that you should take into account to determine whether you can proceed with this joint research, and what legal standards you should take into account to comply with federal laws regarding improper influence in research if you decide to go forward. We will also discuss three major legal issues to guide your inquiry, including the False Claims Act (FCA), Export Administration Regulations (EAR), and the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA).
