11.22.22 | Managing Large Interdisciplinary Grants

Encore | A Series of Annual Meeting Webinars

Managing a single award with one Principal Investigator (PI) can be challenging and complex. Interdisciplinary research can involve multiple PIs across multiple departments and institutions. Those Individual departments, colleges and institutions have their own cultures, policies and procedures that may conflict. How can we, as research administrators, assist our PIs in identifying potential issues and smoothing the bumps in the road from pre-proposal through close-out? This webinar will use case studies to suggest ways to set up large interdisciplinary projects for success and provide some concrete examples of things that have worked well and things that didn't. Participants are invited to share information and best practices.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Assist PI in developing a management plan for an interdisciplinary research grant.
  2. Identify barriers to effective interactions.
