Surfactants are an essential component in many cleaner formulations. Especially in the field of metal cleaning these special types of organic molecules are used to adjust several physico-chemical properties. The formulators of cleaners have the choice between a huge number of different products. Nevertheless in metal cleaning applications the circumstances and the requested characteristics are challenging. In the following webinar we explain the basic function of surfactants in a cleaner solution as well as how the chemical structure is influencing it. Besides this we will also explain which part of the molecule is influencing the main properties and how the formulator could predict some behaviour by knowing the exact chemical structure.
