Description

This session will discuss the impact of human trafficking on the health of individuals being trafficked, with emphasis on treatment of tuberculosis. A case study will be presented and discussed.

    Rachel is a Public Health Nurse for Garfield County Public Health Department  in Rifle, Colorado her nursing duties include communicable disease investigation, policy development, immunization administration, outbreak investigation, organization supply and distribution, point of care testing for Hep C, HIV and pregnancy, active TB and LTBI case management, Community Opioid Task Force, provide patient care, emergency and disaster management and education. Co-lead for the COVID-19 Pandemic Case Investigation and Contact Tracing Program.
    Rachel authored a paper entitled "Legislative discrepancies: an analysis of
    Missouri’s current human trafficking laws and the need to improve its legal
    protection of victims".   She also is part of a regional anti-trafficking taskforce called The Battlement to the Bells Anti-Trafficking Taskforce.
