Improving health equity and advocacy in the care of patients with TB

  1. Define and identify the differences between sexual orientation, sex assigned at birth, gender identity, and gender expression.
  2. Identify and discuss GSM health disparities using the Minority Stress Framework.
  3. Define and identify the differences between cultural competency and cultural humility.
  4. Discuss some practices that can be implemented in patient care settings to better serve GSM populations, including trauma-informed care.
  5. Provide an overview and how to access we are TB: Tuberculosis Survivors and Advocates organization. 
  6. Discuss what a patient advocacy coordinator does and how this position can benefit your TB Program and patients.
How to Receive CE Credit for the Webinar:
To complete the course and receive credit for one continuing nursing education (CNE) contact hour, do the following:
  1. Complete the pre-registration questions.
  2. Take the pre-test.
  3. After you complete 1, 2, and 3, click Live Webinar and Register.
  4. When you’re registered, you’ll receive a confirmation email.
  5. Attend the course.
  6. Take the post-test. 
Eligible participants who complete the pre-test, attend the webinar, and complete the post-test, will be alerted by email when their CE certificates are available for download.
