How to Plan Successful Church Events that Don’t Drain Your Team (or your budget)

with Deborah Ike

Description

Marriage retreats, community outreaches, ladies’ brunches, and more - your church hosts several special events throughout the year. Whether you expect 50 people or 5,000, planning an event requires a different approach than planning Sunday services. Too often, church staff and volunteers deal with last-minute changes, unproductive meetings, unclear expectations, and late nights the week before the event. Based on my experience helping churches and as a professional project manager, I’ve developed a process to make planning church events easier and more effective.
We’ll cover the following:
• Where to start in the planning process
• How to create a plan
• Who should be on the team
• What’s involved in executing the plan
• How to keep senior leadership informed
• What should happen the day of the event
• What to do once the event is over
This process saves your team time (no more unproductive meetings) and money (planning ahead prevents last-minute requests to vendors) all while creating events that truly impact your church and community.
