The Intersection of ADA, FMLA and Workers' Compensation Leave

DESCRIPTION

Employee leaves and accommodations can create very confusing situations for employers. This is especially true because there may be many laws at play at once. The Family Medical Leave Act (“FMLA”), the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”) and workers compensation laws can occasionally combine to form a perfect storm for employers. This seminar will discuss these laws and what each requires. Attendees will be able to leave the webinar with a better understanding of their own requirements under the law, and the best practices for handling an employee in need of a leave of absence or other medical related accommodation.
  • Learn what you are legally required to provide when an employee needs time off from work due to an injury, illness, disability, or childbirth.
  • Consider best practices for problem scenarios, such as employees who need intermittent leave from work, or when you question whether a leave request is for a legitimate reason.
